IEM stands for Incredible Expanding Mindfuck and is a personal side-project of Steven Wilson. Have Come for Your Children is the third album from the project. Tracks 1-5 use improvisations from 1999 as source material, heavily reconstructed and overdubbed in the studio in August 2001. Track 6 is a piece for hammered dulcimer and mellotron choir.

Those looking for melodious getaways should steer clear of this album. Suitable only for sonic explorers! As far as I am concerned, this is Wilson at his best, offering a free ride into the void.

Unlike other labels subjected to exhaustive multi-disc retrospectives like this whopping ten-disc Revolutions in Sound: Warner Bros. Records – The First Fifty Years, Warner Brothers never embodied a scene or sound: they've always embodied what a major label should be – a dominant force that chronicles and dictates the sound of the mainstream. Coming out at the tail-end of 2008, when the influence of major labels is on a slow steady decline, Revolutions in Sound can be seen as a portrait of a time that's beginning to recede into the past: a time when there was such a thing as mass entertainment, when the pop audience all shared a common bond of hit records they either loved or rallied against. Perhaps the greatest things about this monumental box set is that it captures that colossus while also illustrating that for a while, majors did take risks. Of course, Warner was the riskiest of all the majors, never held back by an anti-rock & roll sourpuss like Mitch Miller, who struggled to keep CBS out of the tumult of the '60s (this with no less than Bob Dylan as the label's flagship rock artist). Co-produced with Stewart Lerman and performed by Nile's road band, this set is assembled from 12 unreleased songs old and new, soldered together in the urgency of the era. Cristina Arrigoni's iconic black-and-white sleeve images of street denizens are riveting, drenched in layers of meaning.

Back with Bill Laswell after their ecstatically successful pan-African collaboration Message From Home, Sanders tries to capture that lightning again but this time, the ambience is mellower, the spirituality less fierce. Though the African percussive element is still present, it now takes a back seat to subtle layered electronics and influences from India and the Middle East, and the huge, passionate Pharoah sound of old is mostly toned-down and recessed, sometimes squeezed into a double-reeded instrument.

Children of the Sun is the third studio album by Australian musician Billy Thorpe, released in 1979. The album spawned the singles "Wrapped in the Chains of Your Love", "Goddess of the Night", "Children of the Sun" and "Simple Life". This was the only official CD release of "Children of the Sun". It was only released in Australia, and has the original mix of the title track, as opposed to the remix version that appears on the "Revisited" CD.
