Digital Coherent Optical Systems: Architecture and Algorithms

Digital Coherent Optical Systems: Architecture and Algorithms by Darli Augusto de Arruda Mello
English | EPUB | 2021 | 238 Pages | ISBN : 3030665402 | 42.8 MB

This textbook details the architecture of a digital coherent optical system and describes its main digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms. The authors first show how the combination of advanced modulation techniques, DSP and coherent detection has led to significant gains in capacity and ease of operation.

Coherent Evolution in Noisy Environments by Andreas Buchleitner, Klaus Hornberger
English | PDF | 2002 | 304 Pages | ISBN : 3540443541 | 3.9 MB

In the last two decades extraordinary progress in the experimental handling of single quantum objects has spurred theoretical research into investigating the coupling between quantum systems and their environment. Decoherence, the gradual deterioration of entanglement due to dissipation and noise fed to the system by the environment, has emerged as a central concept. The present set of lectures is intended as a high-level, but self-contained, introduction into the fields of quantum noise and dissipation. In particular their influence on decoherence and applications pertaining to quantum information and quantum communication are studied, leading the nonspecialist researchers and the advanced students gradually to the forefront of research.

English | PDF | 2013 | 384 Pages | ISBN : 1119962773 | 23.3 MB

An expert review of recent progress in the study of turbulent flows with a focus on recently identified organized structures.
This book reviews the recent progress in the study of the turbulent flows that sculpt the Earth’s surface, focusing in particular on the organized structures that have been identified in recent years within turbulent flows. These coherent flow structures can include eddies or vortices at the scale of individual grains, through structures that scale with the flow depth in rivers or estuaries, to the large-scale structure of flows at the morphological or landform scale. These flow structures are of wide interest to the scientific community because they play an important role in fluid dynamics and influence the transport, erosion and deposition of sediment and pollutants in a wide variety of fluid flow environments.

Semi-Infinite Algebraic Geometry of Quasi-Coherent Sheaves on Ind-Schemes

Semi-Infinite Algebraic Geometry of Quasi-Coherent Sheaves on Ind-Schemes: Quasi-Coherent Torsion Sheaves, the Semiderived Category, and the Semitensor Product by Leonid Positselski
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2023 | 225 Pages | ISBN : 3031379047 | 28.7 MB

Semi-Infinite Geometry is a theory of "doubly infinite-dimensional" geometric or topological objects. In this book the author explains what should be meant by an algebraic variety of semi-infinite nature. Then he applies the framework of semiderived categories, suggested in his previous monograph titled Homological Algebra of Semimodules and Semicontramodules, (Birkhäuser, 2010), to the study of semi-infinite algebraic varieties. Quasi-coherent torsion sheaves and flat pro-quasi-coherent pro-sheaves on ind-schemes are discussed at length in this book, making it suitable for use as an introduction to the theory of quasi-coherent sheaves on ind-schemes.
