Mobys 19. Studioalbum Reprise erscheint beim altehrwürdigen Klassiklabel Deutsche Grammophon: Hier transformiert der Elektronik-Produzent die Erfolge seiner Karriere nämlich in Orchester- und Akustikstücke, die teils mit dem Budapest Art Orchestra eingespielt wurden. Der Dancefloor-Charakter der Songs wird damit stark zurückgefahren, stattdessen schält Moby mit seinen neuen Arrangements die darunterliegenden Emotionen heraus.

Based on a Chinese folk-tale, Mulan is a young high-spirited girl who tries hard to please her parents but always feels like she is disappointing them. Her father is drafted into the army which amounts to certain death because of his old age. Mulan disguises herself as a man and takes her father's place in battle, guided by a guardian dragon, Mushu. At the height of her success her secret is revealed and she is banished from home. But, undaunted she fights and defeats enemy invaders and saves the Emperor, bringing great honor to her family.

In a border town the famous gunslinger Ringo kills four people out of self defense but is arrested nevertheless. Meanwhile a gang of Mexicans cross the border and rob the local bank. Their leader is wounded when they try to escape and therefore the bandits take refuge on a nearby ranch, taking the occupants hostage. The sheriff is reluctant to take action because his fiancée is among the hostages. The only one who can help him now is Ringo, who is set free and asked to infiltrate the gang…
