English | PDF | 2021 | 389 Pages | ISBN : 3030764729 | 4.3 MB

This volume presents selected contributions from experts gathered at Chapman University for a conference held in November 2019 on new directions in function theory. The papers, written by leading researchers in the field, relate to hypercomplex analysis, Schur analysis and de Branges spaces, new aspects of classical function theory, and infinite dimensional analysis.

Functions of One Complex Variable I  eBooks & eLearning

Functions of One Complex Variable I

Functions of One Complex Variable I by John B. Conway
English | PDF | 1978 | 331 Pages | ISBN : 0387903283 | 37.2 MB

This book is intended as a textbook for a first course in the theory of functions of one complex variable for students who are mathematically mature enough to understand and execute E - 8 arguments. The actual pre requisites for reading this book are quite minimal; not much more than a stiff course in basic calculus and a few facts about partial derivatives. The topics from advanced calculus that are used (e.g., Leibniz's rule for differ entiating under the integral sign) are proved in detail. Complex Variables is a subject which has something for all mathematicians. In addition to having applications to other parts of analysis, it can rightly claim to be an ancestor of many areas of mathematics (e.g., homotopy theory, manifolds). This view of Complex Analysis as "An Introduction to Mathe matics" has influenced the writing and selection of subject matter for this book. The other guiding principle followed is that all definitions, theorems, etc.

A Complex Analysis Problem Book by Daniel Alpay
English | PDF | 2011 | 526 Pages | ISBN : 3034800770 | 4.6 MB

This is a collection of exercises in the theory of analytic functions, with completed and detailed solutions. We wish to introduce the student to applications and aspects of the theory of analytic functions not always touched upon in a first course. Using appropriate exercises show the students some aspects of what lies beyond a first course in complex variables. We also discuss topics of interest for electrical engineering students (for instance, the realization of rational functions and its connections to the theory of linear systems and state space representations of such systems). Examples of important Hilbert spaces of analytic functions (in particular the Hardy space and the Fock space) are given. The book also includes a part where relevant facts from topology, functional analysis and Lebesgue integration are reviewed.

Reshetnyak's Theory of Subharmonic Metrics

Reshetnyak's Theory of Subharmonic Metrics by François Fillastre, Dmitriy Slutskiy

Despite the fundamental role played by Reshetnyak's work in the theory of surfaces of bounded integral curvature, the proofs of his results were only available in his original articles, written in Russian and often hard to find. This situation used to be a serious problem for experts in the field. This book provides English translations of the full set of Reshetnyak's articles on the subject. Together with the companion articles, this book provides an accessible and comprehensive reference for the subject. In turn, this book should concern any researcher (confirmed or not) interested in, or active in, the field of bounded integral curvature surfaces, or more generally interested in surface geometry and geometric analysis. Due to the analytic nature of Reshetnyak's approach, it appears that his articles are very accessible for a modern audience, comparing to the works using a more synthetic approach.
