Cosmic Ground is a solo project by Dirk Jan Müller (keyboard player of the krautrock band Electric Orange). The musical identity admits a brilliant and radical medley of darkened primeval droning sonorities, driven hypno-electronic moves for an eloquent travel into the center of the mind. Mindsplitting and definitely recommended to lovers of the most innovative and inspired facets of Kosmische Musik's early standards.
After the release of the first three albums "In Memoriam", "Nights Of Lust" and "Miserere" Jason Köhnen (Mansur / The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble / The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation) has created The Lovecraft Sextet’s first soundtrack to a yet to be created movie. The Horror Cosmic is a Lovecraftian cosmic horror short story which dives into the existential dread of the infinite nothingness. The album was composed as a soundtrack to accompany the illustrated short story and is an expanded step in the multidisciplinary aspect of the Lovecraft Sextet project. Therefore this release should be listened to as a soundtrack with compositions working to accentuate a specific mood to the specific chapters of the story.
There are two ways to look at keyboardist Roger Powell's debut album, Cosmic Furnace. It is either a visionary work as one of the first rock albums recorded entirely on synthesizer, or it's a prog rock artifact for that very reason. The facts tend support the former – it is based on the ARP synthesizer, which was uncommon for 1973 – but the music itself tends to support the latter, since it's a bunch of spacy, vaguely spooky and mystical art-rock that functions primarily as atmosphere, not as structured compositions. Each of the six cuts establishes its mood immediately and then meanders for upward of eight minutes, never really going anywhere, but treading that same patch of ground rather effectively. In other words, it's not a lost classic – not even for devoted fans of Powell's later group Utopia – but for fans of synths and '70s art-rock, it's a reasonably interesting footnote to electronic rock history.
This is one of Moondog's finest albums. An eccentric mix of moods ranging from warm and energetic pieces (my favourite is Chaconne in G) to solemn organ pieces which to me sound like quirky Bach.

The Grammy and Golden Globe Award-Winning Kitaro has achieved global acclaim over a more than three decade long career with a signature sound and a pioneering fusion of cultures, techniques and spheres of consciousness that are truly his own.
