was a bi-monthly horror and suspense comics anthology comics series published by EC Comics that became the precursor for the later more widely-known and popular . This title lasted only 3 issues, from #17 to #19, with cover dates April-May through August-September, 1950, when beginning with issue #20 it became the (in)famous .

is an all-new ongoing take on the classic bi-monthly series of the same title from EC Comics that stopped publication with its February/March 1955 issue. The nomenclature V2 (for Volume 2) used herein distinguishes it from the original EC Comics series. It is currently published by Papercutz, a new graphic novel publishing company originally targeted for tweens 8-14, launched in the Spring of 2005 with the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew, but which is obviously expanding into more mature fare with this series. Although admittedly still aimed towards its original market by its stylized near-cartoonish artwork, as homage to EC Comics publisher William Gaines and classic series co-creator Al Feldstein, it remains true to form. It even includes the EC Comics logo on its cover--used with permission, of course--and is now beginning to gain a following from a broad spectrum of readers. Each issue features two 20-page tales of terror in the EC tradition, narrated by the original Crypt-Keeper, Old Witch, and Vault Keeper. By the way if you think this 13th issue somehow seems different, don't worry; it's a parody.

Included are over 150 factory chord presets allowing for a near-unlimited amount of possible musical-sounding chord progressions.

It was a minor stroke of genius when director Andrew Leman of the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society decided to film Lovecraft's influential 1925 horror story as a faux silent film. Fake scratches, handsome intertitles, a captivating score, and high-contrast black-and-white images at dramatic angles that recall the best German Expressionism go a long way to further the illusion that the film was made in '25 instead of '05. With one gesture, Leman solved dozens of problems–suddenly, it didn't matter that the special effects weren't quite state of the art, that the story consists of an undramatic pile-on of narratives-within-narratives, that the production couldn't even afford a real boat. The result is an almost-vintage tale of hair-raising mystery full of bizarre dreams, murderous eskimos, and blood-thirsty cultists that culminates in the revelation of an unspeakable horror. "Call of Cthulhu" is a highly entertaining addition to anybody's Halloween library.
