Call for Winter II: Resonance is the new album from Daniel Herskedal and the second album, as part of his solo project Call for Winter. A musician and composer who is meticulously crafting a sound of his own blending Tuba, bass trumpet with classical, world and improvised music, Call for Winter II :Resonance is a profound statement, aptly titled, depicting his expansive vision, ambition as much as the influence of the stark, breathtaking expanse of the Norwegian valley and landscape—an ever-present muse in Herskedal’s work. Following the thematic and sonic footsteps of his first “Call for Winter” album, which expanded upon “The Mistral Noir” from his 2015 album “Slow Eastbound Train,” Herskedal dives deeper in “Resonance.” Here, he layers his signature instruments with even greater emotional gravity and artistic conviction, crafting a soundscape that is both expansive and introspective.

Daniel Rowland is a charismatic and adventurous violinist, director and chamber musician. With irrepressible energy, he musically intoxicates the musicians he plays with and those who listen to his performances and recordings. The members of his Stift Festival Orchestra mirror that energy and make this brilliant piece of Max Richter sound as cool, passionate, rough and intimate as it can be.

Daniel and Pablo Zapico are members of Forma Antiqva as well as being resident artists of this edition of the Granada Festival. They rank in a privileged position with regard to historic interpretation and here they offer us Mediterránea, in which they explore the range of differences between Spanish and Italian music of the Renaissance and the Baroque periods.

Daniel Hunter is an English born, Australian-raised Jazz-guitarist and educator now based in Paris, France. As a performer Daniel has appeared on stage throughout France, Switzerland, Australia, Italy, Germany, Morocco and even Azerbaijan. Following on from his debut album in 2013, aptly named The Twentieth, alluding to his surrounds in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, Refuge's themes span the plight of refugees, the search for shelter, the emotional aftermath of terrorist attack, the snowfalls of European winter, and the French Alps.
