The fourth in a series of comprehensive box sets chronicling David Bowie's entire career: Loving the Alien (1983-1988) covers a period that found Bowie at a popular peak yet somewhat creatively adrift. Once Let's Dance went supernova in 1983, as it was designed to do, Bowie's productivity slowed to a crawl: he knocked out the sequel, Tonight, in a year, then took three to deliver Never Let Me Down. By the end of the decade, he rediscovered his muse via the guitar skronk of Tin Machine, but Loving the Alien cuts off with Never Let Me Down, presented both in its original version and in a new incarnation containing tasteful instrumentation recorded in the wake of Bowie's death…

David Bowie 6. I Can’t Give Everything Away (2002 - 2016) is the sixth in a series of box sets spanning Bowie’s career from 1969. The thirteen-piece CD box set is named after the closing track on ★ (BLACKSTAR), Bowie’s final studio album. The box sets include newly remastered versions (except ★ and No Plan), with input from David’s co-producer Tony Visconti. Exclusive to each of the box sets are Montreux Jazz Festival and Re:Call 6. The former was recorded on the 18th of July 2002 at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival and among the 31 tracks features a full performance bar one song of one of Bowie’s most revered albums, Low. Re:Call 6 features 41 non-album / alternative versions / b-sides and soundtrack songs, including tracks never previously available on CD. An accompanying 128-page book features previously unseen notes, drawings and handwritten lyrics from Bowie and photos by Sukita (who took the set’s cover shot), Jimmy King, Frank W. Ockenfels 3, Markus Klinko, Mark ‘Blammo’ Adams and more as well as memorabilia, technical notes about the albums from co-producer Tony Visconti and design notes from Jonathan Barnbrook. The CD box includes faithfully reproduced mini-vinyl versions of the original albums where applicable, and the CDs will be gold-coloured rather than the usual silver. 13 CD Box Set + 128-page hardback book

Sound + Vision is David Bowie's box set compilation released on Rykodisc in 1989. By the end of the 1980s, the rights to Bowie's pre-1983 catalogue (released under the RCA label) reverted back to Bowie. Rykodisc had approached Bowie in 1988 to re-release albums on CD and Bowie agreed, and in September 1989 the Sound + Vision box set was released. By April 1990 the box set had sold over 200,000 copies, which, for a set costing $50–$60 (in 1990 currency) was considered "phenomenal."

Nothing Has Changed released on November 17th collects together for the first time the definitive collection of Bowie’s music from 1964 to 2014. Fifty years on from his first recordings, David Bowie continues to be at the vanguard of contemporary culture as a musician, artist, icon and a nonpareil to generations of writers, artists and fashionistas. He remains to be a unique presence in contemporary culture. The album features Bowie’s first new music since he stunned the world with the critically lauded ‘The Next Day’. The new single ‘Sue (or In A Season Of Crime)’ was especially recorded for Nothing Has Changed with long time collaborator Tony Visconti. There is a two-CD version of Nothing Has Been Changed, which ignores all the really early stuff and has a more conventional chronological running order.

Rare (often referred to as Bowie Rare) was a David Bowie compilation released by RCA Records in December 1982. The artist's relations with the company were at a low[citation needed] – Bowie had recorded his last music for RCA Records with the Baal EP, and had been annoyed by the release of a five-year-old duet with Bing Crosby ("Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy") as a single without his consultation.[citation needed] Bowie informed RCA he was unhappy with the Rare compilation, and would sign with EMI Records for his next album.[citation needed] All tracks on Rare were being issued for the first time on LP and cassette.
The compilation contained rarities recorded between 1969 and 1980. RCA did not issue Rare in the United States; nor was the album reissued on CD along with most of Bowie's other RCA albums in 1984. On the UK Album Chart, where it remained for eleven weeks, the album peaked at number 34.
