If a few breaks had come his way, David "Rock" Feinstein would have left his mark on the heavy metal masses a long time ago. As the leader of local New York rockers the Rods, Feinstein supplied vocals and guitar work to quite a few cult classic albums throughout the '80s. Not to mention a little-known fact: Feinstein's cousin was none other than Ronnie James Dio, and the two played together while both were members of Elf. And in 2010, Feinstein got around to issuing quite possibly his best solo effort yet, Bitten by the Beast. His roots with Dio continued to run deep up until the end (Dio passed away a few months before the release of Bitten by the Beast), as the album was one of the first to be released on Dio's newly formed label, Niji Entertainment, and even features a track with none other than Dio himself on vocals, the anthemic "Metal Will Never Die."

I've always been a fan of David Rock Feinstein either with The Rods or with his solo career, now reuniting The Rods again in 2009 and going on strong in 2010. Talking about this album is a very good Heavy Rock/Rock'n'Roll release and i'm telling this not because i've admired Feinstein through out the years as he is a great musician and composer, but is because the quality of his music is way too cool!.."Bad Boys Rocking Again" is just excellent and the AOR-ish of "Everybody's Needs Music" are 2 good examples… just to mention 2 highlights of the album because the rest of the songs are worth in all aspects honestly..if u want a clue is like listening the old Triumph stuff and Status Quo.If u feel like listening to good structured Heavy Rock/Rock'n'Roll music, then A'La Rock would be the best option.90/100 ~heavyharmonies

David Bowie One of the greatest stars of the rock & roll era, David Bowie evaded easy categorization throughout his career, operating as the artiest rocker within the mainstream and the most accessible musician on the fringe. Bowie may have trafficked in ideas cultivated in the underground, but he was never quite an outsider as far as rock & roll was concerned. From the outset of his career in the 1960s, he attempted to break into the Top 40, playing British blues, mod rock & roll, and ornate pop before finally hitting paydirt as a hippie singer/songwriter. "Space Oddity" gave Bowie his breakthrough in the U.K., reaching the Top Ten in the summer of 1969 – the summer of Apollo 11 – and it belatedly performed a similar feat in America, giving him his first Top 20 hit early in 1973. By that point, Bowie had traded his folkie persona for the glam-rock alien Ziggy Stardust, one of the many shifts of sound and image that came to define his career.
