Si Renault et Citroën, fleurons de l'industrie automobile, appartiennent au patrimoine français, leurs fondateurs restent méconnus. Ces deux frères ennemis ont partagé les bancs du lycée Condorcet, à Paris, ils se sont ensuite livré une concurrence acharnée, façonnant l'histoire industrielle du pays. Pourtant, malgré leur incroyable réussite, ces deux génies de l'automobile connaissent un destin tragique. Tandis que la crise économique de 1930 a raison des audaces d'André Citroën, qui meurt ruiné en juillet 1935, Louis Renault est, quant à lui, accusé de collaboration avec l'ennemi en 1944. Enfermé à la prison de Fresnes, il trouve la mort à la suite d'une hémorragie cérébrale.

After a bloody invasion of the BOPE in the High-Security Penitentiary Bangu 1 in Rio de Janeiro to control a rebellion of interns, the Lieutenant-Colonel Roberto Nascimento and the second in command Captain André Matias are accused by the Human Right Aids member Diogo Fraga of execution of prisoners. Matias is transferred to the corrupted Military Police and Nascimento is exonerated from the BOPE by the Governor.

Na de diploma-uitreiking verdwijnt ze uit zijn leven. Door zijn neurotische aanleg mislukt Govert als advocaat en moet hij een baantje als klerk op het Paleis van Justitie aannemen. Tien jaar later woont hij een lijkschouwing bij, die hem hevig aangrijpt. Die avond ontmoet hij Fran in het hotel waar hij logeert. Onder de naam Franny Veen is zij een bekend actrice geworden.
