Deckchair Poets

Welcome to the latest mix of new progressive sounds on this equally new Prog magazine cover disc. There's brand new Voyager, Big Big Train, Goldray, White Willow and Ayreon, all featuring highly anticipated tracks from their latesr releases. We also feature a track from Arkansas-based band Pallbearer. Traditionally known as a doom band, their love of progressive rock has seen them expand their sound on new album Heartless, hense the inclusion of "I Saw The End" on this CD. And of course there's Damanek, the project featuring Guy Manning, Sean Timms, Luke Machin, Dan Mash and Marek Arnold. "Long Time Shadow Falls" does not disappoint.

Zorbonauts is a new band name under which the more serious musical side of those otherwise abstract humourists, Deckchair Poets, now shelter. Thus Zorbonauts is also based upon the musical talents of Geoff Downes (Yes), Nick D’Virgilio (Big Big Train), Ollie Hannifan (Synaesthesia), Dave Meros (Spock’s Beard) and Lynden (Jerusalem). Zorbonauts first release, Tall Tails, is a contemporary look at material originally performed and recorded by Lynden, during his early Jerusalem days, which has now been turned inside-out, given several lyrical alterations, and, in the case of Primitive Man, an impressive extention. It should be noted that the track, She Came Like A Bat From Hell, was written, performed, recorded (in 1971), and released (in 1972), many years prior to Meatloaf’s first album of a vaguely similar name.
