This compact disc by Deerhunter merges two albums released in 2008: Microcastle and Weird Era Continued. This was released by Kranky.

A quick scan of Deerhunter's body of work – which includes album and song titles like Fading Frontier and "Memory Boy" – serves as a reminder that the fleeting nature of life is something that has fascinated Bradford Cox and company for years. Until the band's eighth album, these meditations on ephemerality were deeply personal. On Why Hasn't Everything Already Disappeared?, Cox looks at the world around him with the same intensity that he used to examine his own life on earlier albums.

Deerhunter are pure rockers and they are one of the most rockingest bands around. Take for example this release from 2010 called Halcyon Digest. 4AD wanted to prove that to the world and they did with this release.

As thrilling and unpredictable as anything in Deerhunter’s near 15-year career, Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared? was recorded in several strategic geographic points across North America, and produced by the band, Cate LeBon, Ben H. Allen III, and Ben Etter.

Before Monomania's release, Deerhunter described the album's music as "nocturnal garage" – an accurate, if somewhat elliptical, nutshell explanation of what Bradford Cox and crew (who include new bassist Josh McKay and additional guitarist Frankie Broyles) are up to on this set of songs.

Digital Magic is the 1979 album by Stanley Black, His Piano & Orchestra. This is taken from a 1982 CD released by London and is one of the first titles released during the first year of the compact disc.

BOYO is the pseudonym of 20 year-old singer-songwriter Robert Tilden. Tilden's been kicking around the LA DIY scene since he was 16 years old, spending the better part of it fronting the garage band Bobby T. and the Slackers. Me, Again, the follow up to his debut Control, taps into his sense of vulnerability, taking on themes of isolation, addiction, and regret. The album is a jagged collection of garage rock and soft DIY indie and noisey pop music, channeling everyone from Ty Segall to Elliot Smith to Deerhunter.

It was in June 1960 that THE SHADOWS entered Abbey Road Studios to record APACHE, the track that was to become the instrumental hit of the decade. It shot to No.1 and became an instant classic and saw the start of a string of over thirty hits – including another four No.1’s, WONDERFUL LAND, KON-TIKI, DANCE ON! and FOOT TAPPER - for the group who pioneered the now familiar band line up of two guitars, bass and drums. APACHE also inspired a new generation of artists such as Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Pete Townshend and Queen’s Brian May to take up the guitar. The unique sound of THE SHADOWS is captured on this 2CD collection especially compiled by the band to mark their 60th anniversary year.
