Grammy®-winning musicians Evgeny Kissin and the Emerson String Quartet join forces for their debut collaborative album, captured live at a sold out Carnegie Hall concert, to be released on Deutsche Grammophon this Friday, April 12.

Gil Shaham took up the violin aged seven and a mere three years later debuted as soloist with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. Less than a year later, Shaham performed with Israel's foremost orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic, conducted by Zubin Mehta. Shaham has since performed with many of the world's leading orchestras. His recordings for Deutsche Grammaphon reveal a broad repertoire and not least an affinity to the music of the twentieth century.

After the success of her Deutsche Grammaphon debut which she dedicated to the composer Mieczyslaw Weinberg, Mirga Gražinyté-Tyla (together with Giedre Slekyte) now lets us discover works by Lithuanian composer Raminta Šerkšnyté: Music of transcendent beauty, harrowing and full of emotional force. A music that combines mystical experience and outbursts of vibrant energy. To Mirga, working together with Šerkšnyté has q quite special significance: “My connection with Raminta Šerkšnyté’s music is verypersonal.
