For Swedish black metal icons Marduk, war is a topic familiar. Like moth to flame, they’ve been drawn to modern-era bloodshed—since 1999’s Panzer Divi-sion Marduk in fact. When the Swedes first moved on from reapers autumnal, black suns, and darkened wings, a lifetime’s worth of intense and very real source material lay in front of them. From the brutality of the World Wars to bat-tles before and after, Marduk’s progression into grim historians—or, at the very least period-specific gearheads—is now complete on new album, Viktoria.

Buying time and thwarting bootleggers, Nirvana and DGC released the rarities compilation Incesticide toward the end of 1992. Like any odds'n'sods collection, this is uneven, but that's its charm since it captures Nirvana's character better than any official album. 25th anniversary reissue of this unique coming together of Brian Eno and ex-Public Image Limited bass player Jah Wobble, also featuring Jaki Liebezeit from Can on drums. Starting life as the soundtrack to Derek Jarman’s 'Glitterbug', Eno passed stereo mixes of the film cues to Wobble who embellished and built upon them to construct the 'Spinner' tracks. The resulting fusion combines icy ambience with a kind of psychogeographical funk.
