Sanitize Tom Waits's vocal cords, take some of the rasp out of Dr. John's, put some muscle into Bobby Caldwell's, combine them and you'll have an approximation of the quality of Steve Tyrell's voice. Like his popular 1999 debut, "A New Standard", this is a meticulously recorded album featuring the great American songbook and some of the best jazz soloists alive, including trumpeter Clark Terry, harmonica player Toots Thielemans, and singer Jane Monheit, who plays Lucille Ball and Betty Carter against Tyrell's Red Skelton and Ray Charles on the classic duet "Baby It's Cold Outside".

Jacintha is a Singaporean jazz singer/torch singer and stage actress who has been well-known in parts of the Asia-Pacific region since the '80s and has been increasing her exposure in North America since the late '90s. On "The Girl From Bossa Nova" picks up the tempo on her first bossa nova session. With superb work from tenor Harry Allen and guitarist John Pisano (ex-Diana Krall), the album's supreme finishing is the magical playing of legendary Brazilian master percussionist Paulinho Da Costa, who blesses the entire album with an authentic bossa nova vibe. Anthony Wilson, the talented Grammy-nominated jazz guitarist and key player in the Diana Krall Quartet covers classics such as Kenny Burrell's "Chitlins Con Carne" as well as some original compositions ("Road Trip") through to an unforgettable instrumental cover version of The Beatles' "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" from "Abbey Road" as well as superb performances of "Prelude To A Kiss" (Billy Stayhorn). The Anthony Wilson Trio recorded this magnificent jazz guitar session featuring guitar, Hammond B-3 organ and drums.
