This is issue #2 of D-ROM, a CD-ROM publication that came with issues of DJ Magazine. It is enhanced with programs and featured a demonstration video witjh Tony Vegas but it was also an audio CD, the highlight being a 25 minute mix featuring DJ Vadim and DJ Primecuts. The rest of the tracks are excerpts. Only the lossless version features the enhanced portion of the disc.

2016 has been a stellar year for experimental hip hop luminary DJ Shadow, aka Josh Davis, with the release of his critically acclaimed studio album The Mountain Will Fall – his first release in five years – drawing praise from all corners, from the Guardian who called the record “impressive in its inventiveness” to MOJO who claimed “Shadow is back in the frame” and AV Club who hailed it as “DJ Shadow’s best work since his early-aughts heyday”. For many, it is Shadow’s 1996 debut album Endtroducing that they keep returning to, widely regarded as a groundbreaking release that paved the way for experimental hip hop and changed the shape of electronic music from that point on. Upon its release The Guardian gave it a 5* review and called it “One of the most daring and original albums of recent times”, continuing, “This is genius”, while Spin wrote that the album ""practically folds you into its symphonic fantasia, the coming-of-age story of a 24-year-old bunk-bed dreamer."" Almost a decade later Pitchfork awarded Endtroducing a perfect 10 in their review of the 2005 Deluxe Edition, calling the record “deeply spiritual.”

The Lost Dub Plates is the 2000 EP by the late Japanese DJ Sushi. He is dead now but this represents when he was alive. This CD was released by Kawaguchi Kut/Hip Hop Slam.

Strength Magazine Presents Subtext is a 1999 hip-hop compilation CD coordinated by Strength magazine, a publication that no longer exists, unlike many of the artists on this album that still do. Some of them include Dilated Peoples, Aceyalone, J-Rocc, DJ Babu, Madlib, Del The Funky Homosapien, and many more. This was released through ffrr Recordings in association with London Records.

Relix Magazine CD Sampler (September/October 2006) is a 2006 sampler CD found within the September/October 2006 issue of Relix magazine. This is just the sampler disc, not the full magazine.

Big Daddy Magazine presents The People's Champion Volume 2: The Back Breaker is a 2001 compilation CD released in the UK from Big Daddy magazine. The magazine catered to deep soul, funk, and music of that ilk and some of these songs are exclusive to this comp, which came free with the 9th issue of the magazine.

This is the sampler CD that came with a German-based reggae/dancehall magazine called Riddim. The magazine is now available in English, and this is from the 6th English edition.
