The poet, vocalist, and songwriter Gil Scott-Heron is both the descendant of the African griots and the forefather of rap. In the early '70s, he boldly proclaimed that "the revolution will not be televised," and in the '80s he warned us of the "New World Order" with his prophetic and satirical single, "B Movie." The gifted filmmaker Robert Mugge filmed the controversial artist in performance at the now-defunct Wax Museum in Washington, D.C., in 1982. Mugge alternates between the electrifying soul/jazz/funk grooves of Scott- Heron's Midnight Band and his witty and deep monologues about racial politics with a wax figure of Uncle Sam and his dead-on commentaries on urban life in the nation's capital.

The first ""Rockpalast"" performance in March 1980 features Jackson and band performing songs from his new wave punk era as well as hints of things to come. The 1983 shows focus on his classic album ""Night and Day"" and its jazz, pop sound as well as revisiting his previous hits. Top notch songwriting and performances. Joe Jackson (born David Ian Jackson, 11 August 1954) is an English musician and singer-songwriter now living in Berlin, whose five Grammy Award nominations span from 1979 to 2001. He is probably best known for the 1979 hit song and first single "Is She Really Going Out with Him?", which still gets extensive US FM radio airplay; for his 1982 Top 10 hit, "Steppin' Out"; and for his 1984 success with "You Can't Get What You Want (Till You Know What You Want)". He was popular for his pop/rock and New Wave music early on before moving to more eclectic, though less commercially successful, pop/jazz/classical hybrids. Joe Jackson has been nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame numerous times.

Remember that Night directed by David Mallet was filmed over three nights, May 29, 30 and 31, 2006 at London's beautiful Royal Albert Hall during Gilmour's short tour promoting his latest project On An Island. Featuring songs from this latest project, and some Pink Floyd hits as well, Gilmour delivers an exciting performance that delights and mesmerizes the engaged audience throughout the concert. Gilmour also brought several guest stars onstage in the form of David Crosby, Graham Nash, and David Bowie who I almost did not recognize. David is backed by the same group of musicians that joined him on his last tour, except for Nick Mason. Also joining Gilmour is British jazz musician Robert Wyatt who plays a beautiful rendition of "Then I Close My Eyes".
