Chromeo is a Canadian electro-funk duo from Montreal, formed in 2002 by musicians David "Dave 1" Macklovitch and Patrick "P-Thugg" Gemayel. Their sound draws from blue-eyed soul, dance music, rock, synth-pop, disco and funk. Collection includes: She's In Control (2004); Fancy Footwork (2008) 2CD Edition; DJ Kicks (2009); Business Casual (2010).

R.E.M. mark the point when post-punk turned into alternative rock. When their first single, "Radio Free Europe", was released in 1981, it sparked a back-to-the-garage movement in the American underground. While there were a number of hardcore and punk bands in the U.S. during the early '80s, R.E.M. brought guitar pop back into the underground lexicon. Combining ringing guitar hooks with mumbled, cryptic lyrics and a D.I.Y. aesthetic borrowed from post-punk, the band simultaneously sounded traditional and modern. Throughout the '80s, they worked relentlessly, releasing records every year and touring constantly, playing both theaters and backwoods dives. Along the way, they inspired countless bands, from the legions of jangle pop groups in the mid-'80s to scores of alternative pop groups in the '90s, who admired their slow climb to stardom.

During the mid-'80s, Nik Kershaw managed to score a handful of pop hits and, in doing so, establish himself as a profitable commercial songwriter. Kershaw began his musical career by learning to play guitar when he was a teenager. In 1974, he joined his first band, Half Pint Hogg, which played nothing but Deep Purple covers. However, his musical ideas were not limited to heavy metal; after he left school, he joined a jazz-funk band called Fusion. Fusion released one album, 'Til I Hear From You, in the late '70s. Once the group broke up, Kershaw signed to MCA Records with the help of Nine Below Zero's manager, Micky Modern. Kershaw released his first solo single, "I Won't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," in 1983; it peaked at number 47 on the U.K. charts. His next single, "Wouldn't It Be Good," hit number five in the U.K. and charted at number 46 in the U.S. Its success led to stardom in Britain for Kershaw; "I Won't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" was re-released in summer of 1984 and charted at number two, leading to a series of hit singles. Collection includes: Human Racing (1984); The Riddle (1984); 15 Minutes (1999); You've Got To Laugh (2006).

Introducing Sunday Jazz by Erik Jackson. Sunday Jazz is the final installment of Erik Jackson's - Sunday Breaks. These drums were recorded for Erik's personal use. Due the massive amounts of recording time and content recorded for Sunday Jazz, these were almost forgot about. Erik discovered 3 analog reels full of jazz drum recordings. I used the 1st reel for my personal collection. The recordings for this release are reels 2 and 3.

When we created VIBES, we sat down and put ourselves into the mindset of the music listener, and it changed our entire approach for making melodies.

djay - is a program for managing and mixing music collection. Its feature is the presence of two realistic virtual interactive turntables, as well as the ability to record and transmit music through a network of Bonjour on networked computers with the installed program. The program supports all major file formats, including MP3, AAC, AIFF, WAV, MOV, Audio-CD and others.

Drums and FX created using 5 vintage drum samplers (RZ1, DDD1, ASRX Pro, ST224 and the ES1). These dope little samplers were used to sample a varied selection of sounds: 808, 909, DR110, DMX, ER1, TE PO12, vinyl, live drums, percussion and more! Those gritty, punchy sounds were then recorded through a couple of 1073-500 pres, a Fat Bustard II valve mixer and various other high end studio gear.
