Amsterdam-based Aros is an international sextet co-led by Canadian saxophonist Rob Armus and Austrian classical pianist Marion von Tilzer. Their collective influences and experience notably include American jazz and improvised music, European classical and new music and tango. Imagine, for example, Astor Piazzolla and Philip Glass combining forces to create modal jazz with an occasional nod to free improv. There’s quite a range of moods and styles on this 2004 album, from heartfelt lyrical intimacy to driving soul jazz vamps. Recorded and mixed entirely in DSD, this vibrant recording is Aros’s first North American release.

Husband and wife pianists Wayne Horvitz and Robin Holcomb takes turns at the keyboard on this 2004 release, the couple's first recording sharing equal billing. They are together and yet alone, as the title promises, each plays solo piano. The instrument is a Steinway D; the programme they have sequenced includes original compositions, free improvisations and three covers, including Wayne Shorter’s beautiful Armageddon. The live-to-DSD recording in a small concert hall creates an intimate, palpable atmosphere.

This is a conceptual album which is based on the Danish author H.C. Andersen´s dramaturgy of the story of "The Little Mermaid", and where the genre is soft jazz with colors Latin rhythms! Most delightfully, the entire album was a audience-less live recording in the Jarna Kulturhus’ Concert Hall with no post-recording dubbing. The result is a dynamically well-balanced work of art infused with high transparency and complex tonality. Though closely miked and hence cast effectively to the front and over the instrumentalists, Yamina’s voice never eclipses her band mates.

Mischa Maisky (cello), Lars Anders Tomter (viola) and Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy performs Richard Strauss' "Don Quixote (Fantastic Variations on a Theme of Knightly Character)" & "Symphonic Poem "Death and Transfiguration" on this Japanese SACD. Blues credibility doesn’t get any deeper or more real than Robert Lockwood Jr. On Delta Crossroads, the 85-year-old Delta bluesman lays out a heartfelt homage to the immortal Robert Johnson, his guitar teacher, close friend, role model and possibly step-father. Playing the acoustic 12-string guitar and singing with uncommon authority, Lockwood delivers unaccompanied, bone-chilling renditions of Johnson classics like “32-20 Blues”, “Stop Breakin’ Down Blues” “Mr. Downchild”, “Love In Vain Blues” and “I Believe I’ll Dust My Broom”, along with authentically earthy readings of Leroy Carr’s “Mean Mistreater Mama” and “In the Evening”, Lightnin’ Hopkins’ “C.C. Rider” and “Key to the Highway”, which Lockwood says was written by Jazz Gillum and not Big Bill Broonzy, who usually gets credit. This purely acoustic offering is a rich tribute and a must for Delta fanatics.

Philip's Wish is a very unique SACD featuring a mixture Flamenco grooves , Jazz improvisation and Brazilian and World music feel.

This four-disc hybrid SACD set presents the complete works for piano and violin of Ludwig van Beethoven. The performers are the critically-acclaimed Dutch violinist Isabelle van Keuelen and the talented young compatriot, pianist Hannes Minnaar. This is very enjoyable performances and recording by two outstanding young artists.

Debut work of Lady Kim, released in Japan via Eighty-Eight's, sublabel of Village Records. A whispering ballad with a voice that seems to have a deep sadness reminiscent of Billy Holiday. Up-tempo songs filled with coquettish charm are just overflowing. Originality-rich vocal style makes the most of her charm. This album is mainly made up of songs that Billy Holiday did not take up (the only exception is bonus track "Strange Fruit" only recorded as homage).

"Autumn Leaves" is the third album of female vocalist, who got a reputation as a rebirth of Billy Holiday. It have been released in Japan via Eighty-Eight's, sublabel of Village Records. DSD Recording.

Jean-Marc Luisada is a French pianist born in Bizerte, Tunisia. He started on the piano at six years old. He signed an exclusive agreement with RCA Red Seal in 1998. Among his recordings are the waltzes and mazurkas of Frédéric François Chopin. This album have been recorded in Japan at Salamanca Hall. It marked as Pure DSD Recording.
