Cinema Serenade came to be as a result of the 1992 collaboration of the world's premier film composer, John Williams, with one of the world's finest violinists, Itzhak Perlman, on the score for Steven Spielberg's Holocaust epic Schindler's List. The duo reunited to create a collection of excerpts from a variety of different film scores presented in new arrangements that are centered around Perlman's violin. Williams arranged most of the numbers and conducted the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. The selections are a strange hodgepodge culled haphazardly from some 50 years of film history.

Channel Classics presents the world premiere recording of Dejan Lazić's arrangement for piano and orchestra of Johannes Brahms beloved violin concerto. Recorded live with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra led by Robert Spano, the work's creation was driven by two major inspirations. One was keyboard arrangements of violin concertos by Bach and Beethoven that were penned by the composers and the other was Brahms own countless arrangements and transcriptions of his and other composers works.

Benjamin David "Benny" Goodman was an American jazz clarinetist and bandleader known as the "King of Swing". In the mid-1930s, Goodman led one of the most popular musical groups in the United States. Goodman's bands launched the careers of many major jazz artists. During an era of racial segregation, he led one of the first well-known integrated jazz groups. Goodman performed nearly to the end of his life while exploring an interest in classical music.

This all-acoustic affair is also a family affair - mix jazz guitar pioneer Larry Coryell with his talented sons, Julian and Murali, and what do you get? A smoking blend of acoustic jazz and blues that will turn heads and ears. On The Coryells, their first-ever recording together, Larry's seminal approach to jazz guitar meshes naturally with Murali's blues guitar/vocals and Julian's lyrical jazz guitar riffs.
