“Paris Blues” also serves as the title track to a new blues-themed compilation of the same name coming out on vinyl for Record Store Day’s Black Friday event on November 25th. The album will be available as a limited edition of 10,000 numbered copies on translucent blue vinyl at select independent music stores. The LP’s cover art is an original painting by guitarist Robby Krieger, and the set also includes liner notes by blues scholar Mary Katherine Aldin.

One of the most iconic and influential albums of all time, "The Dark Side Of The Moon" by Pink Floyd, celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2023. An early version of "The Dark Side of The Moon" was premiered at the Rainbow Theatre in London a few months before the band went into the studio. It was recorded in two sessions in 1972 and 1973 at EMI Studios (now Abbey Road Studios) in London. It is Pink Floyd's eighth studio album and was originally released in March 1973. The iconic album packaging, depicting a prismatic spectrum, was designed by Storm Thorgerson of Hipgnosis.

The new Italian ensemble a.k.a. I Solisti Filarmonici Italiani is a long-established ensemble that was predecessor of the Italian ensemble, known as an expert in baroque music along with I Musici, inspired by the “Roma ensemble” that prevailed in the 1970s. This is a super ensemble that includes the masters of the Italian violin world, Federico Guglielmo, and the heavyweights that support the Italian music world both in name and reality. The sound of the golden strings and the flowing ensemble give us a blissful time.

From 1961-1962, Sarah Vaughan recorded two albums while accompanied by just guitar and bass. Her 1962 outing for the obscure Reactivation label (with guitarist Barney Kessel and bassist Joe Comfort) is hard to find, as is her earlier set with guitarist Mundell Lowe and bassist George Duvivier.

Renowned as one of the greatest conductors of the 20th century, Karl Böhm was entrusted in the 1960s with recording all of the Mozart Symphonies with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. His interpretations, captured here, are lauded as brisk and rhythmically robust. These performances are warm and genial, with bold contrasts of dynamic and well-sprung rhythms, is that for the players as well as the conductor this was a voyage of discovery, and their enthusiasm never wanes.
