Dutch conductor and violinist Andre Rieu headlines this special concert staged in front of Vienna's Schonbrunn Palace. Accompanied by the Orchestra and Choir of the Vienna State Opera, The Platin Tenors and the Elmayer Dance School's Vienna Debutantes, as well as vocalists including Mirisua Louwerse, Carmen Monarcha, Suzan Erens and Carla Maffioletti, Rieu plays works including 'The Grisettes of Paris', 'Roses from the South', 'The Beautiful Blue Danube' and 'Lips Are Sealed'.

The Vrijthof concerts have been going for ten years and this anniversary was all the excuse André Rieu needed to make things extra festive and put on a fantastic, unforgettable anniversary concert with his new DVD, ‘Love In Venice’ – a selection of favourites from the concert. For this tenth concert series he had the Vrijthof square specially decorated in Venetian style, complete with a Doge’s Palace, Rialto Bridge, a fabulous Italian fountain and a colourful Venetian masquerade and it was a party from start to end.

The Dutch violinist and conductor is one of the world's most successful touring artists and each year he performs a series of concerts in his hometown of Maastricht in the Netherlands. These concerts are performed in front of thousands of fans and set amongst the cultural backdrop of his beautiful hometown. As always, Andre will be joined by his famous Johann Strauss Orchestra. Sir Anthony Hopkins has composed a Waltz titled, 'And the Waltz Will Go On' which will also be performed. The Maastricht concerts are Andre's most popular concerts of his yearly schedule with his most dedicated fans flying from all over the world to see this incredible event live.

Carmen Monarcha shines as Madam Butterfly, Donij Van Doorn sings the Vilja song with great passion and Mirusia Louwerse steals everyone’s heart with a song from ‘The Phantom of the Opera’.

George Gershwin miraculously melded classical idioms, jazz, blues and spirituals in this quintessentially American masterpiece about a crippled beggar, the headstrong woman he loves, and the community that sustains them both. Eric Owens (Porgy) and Laquita Mitchell (Bess) lead an amazing cast, pulling the audience into the intricate world of Catfish Row. Recorded live in 2009 at the War Memorial Opera House, conductor John DeMain, whose 1976 recording of Porgy and Bess won a Grammy, leads the triumphant cast.
