43 classic recordings from one of New Orleans greatest performers. Not quite the complete singles As &Bs' 1955- 1962 of Eddie Bo. However it's still probably the most detailed overview of his career via singles that there has ever been. His first major success was "I'm Wise" which Little Richard renamed "Slippin' & Slidin'" and made it into a rock and roll classic. Eddie's recordings stand up and still sound fantastic up to 60 years after they were recorded. Other notable tracks include "Check Mr. Popeye" the first major recording devoted to the New Orleans invented dance craze the Popeye. This is an essential addition to any collection of New Orleans R&B.

Edwin Joseph Bocage known as Eddie Bo was born in New Orleans on September 20th 1930. A singer and pianist schooled in jazz, he was best known for his blues, soul and funk output as a performer, arranger, composer and record producer in the city. Eddie worked with over forty different record labels in his time and incredibly, released more singles than anyone else from New Orleans except Fats Domino.

Shoot From The Root is the 1996 CD by New Orleans musician Edwin Bocage, who was better known as Eddie Bo. He ruled the south witn his music and became a major influence in hip-hop but was ripped off by someone who knew the value of his music more than the artist himself. This CD was released by Soulciety.

Live At The Social Volume 1 is the 1996 live album by British electronica duo Chemical Brothers. It features a wonderful mix of different songs from different genres. While it is called Volume 1, there is no Volume 2 as only one edition was made. This was released by Heavenly,

The Big Payback is a 4CD box set of rare soul and funk released in 1998 by Clubmasters. It consists of 10 songs on each disc, featuring the works of Syl Johnson, Eddie Bo, Chuck Carbo, and Nu Sound Express, a few of which have been sampled over the years in hip-hop. Many of these recordings are sourced from vinyl.

Feelin' Right Saturday Night: The Ric & Ron Anthology commemorates the 60th anniversary of pioneering New Orleans R&B label Ric Records, and its sister label Ron Records. The Ric and Ron labels occupy a unique place in the history of New Orleans rhythm and blues.

And so this new collection mixes the Mod mainstays (Small Faces, The High Numbers, The Action, The Fleur de Lys), with a generous selection of future superstars (David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Elton John, Marc Bolan, Jeff Beck and Graham Gouldman of 10cc are all represented here), and a few artists so obscure, so rare, that they never got to release a record in the '60s, but Eddie has tracked down the tapes nonetheless.
