2023 is the 10th anniversary of Einaudi’s most popular album, In A Time Lapse. Building on the success of Nightbook and integrating more instrumentation than ever before, Einaudi fully embraced the range of possibilities this provided him. From delicate tracks including Waterways and the haunting Underwood through to Life, Experience and Newton’s Cradle where the larger ensemble is used to its full effect. Violinist Daniel Hope lends his talents to many tracks on the album and is featured on Experience, the song that has gone on to become Einaudi’s best most popular track.

Ground-breaking composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi announces the release of his new collection ‘Einaudi Undiscovered’. The project features a selection of hidden gems handpicked by Einaudi himself from his incredibly rich and extensive back catalogue, including previously unreleased tracks. From live renditions of tracks such as ‘La Nascita’ and ‘In Un’Altra Vita’, to a Starkey remix of ‘Experience’, alongside lesser known material and pieces from his soundtrack work, this new album gives listeners the opportunity to connect and discover the music of this multi-faceted artist. It also features a rarely heard vocal version of his most popular composition ‘Nuvole Bianche’ and the Main Theme from ‘The Third Murder’ which was previously only released in Japan.

The reassuring calm that descends on Day 3 of Ludovico Einaudi’s mountain walks continues to Day 4. “Low Mist,” whispering, gently pulsing, throws off its last vestiges of anxiety, while the bite of the “Cold Wind” has been blunted. The inner peace for which Einaudi searches is surely within reach. But life is never that simple. The wind, although softer, still whistles plaintively through the trees in “Matches,” while Einaudi’s “View From the Other Side” has an air of nostalgia. The subtlety of Seven Days Walkingis its complexity: Einaudi’s continually shifting musical perspectives and emotional openness are both fascinating and heartwarming.
