Depuis des années, cette bande de virtuoses aux oreilles grandes ouvertes tisse de superbe pont entre jazz et musiques du monde, rock et improvisation… Enregistré fin 2015 à Langonnet en Bretagne, ce neuvième album des Hadouk tire son nom d’une des odes d’Horace à laquelle il fait référence, le cinquième fruit de l’amour. Comme toujours, ouverts à tous les airs, ils puisent les mélodies de la terre pour alimenter leur musique, enrichie une fois de plus par de nouveaux instruments glanés lors de leurs nombreux voyages : Loy Ehrlich joue aussi du rihab, Didier Malherbe de nouvelles flûtes, Eric Löhrer électrifie sa guitare et Jean-Luc di Fraya chante… Le groove végétal d’Hadouk est bien plus qu’une simple invitation au voyage. Et la profondeur des échanges entre les quatre complices vaut à elle seule le détour.

New release Sweet Rapture and Heartache includes 12 of the most beloved opera arias for soprano. Arias are performed by a rising Finnish soprano star Marjukka Tepponen and the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra conducted by maestro Alberto Hold-Garrido. Marjukka Tepponen, winner of the Timo Mustakallio Competition in Savonlinna in 2008, went on to take the first prize in the national Lappeenranta Singing Competition in January 2010. She has been a soloist with most of the main Finnish orchestras, and abroad with, for example, the Münchner Rundfunkorchester. In 2010 she made her debut at the Finnish National Opera, the Savonlinna Opera Festival and Graz Opera in Austria. In summer 2015 she makes her debut at the Bregenz Festival as Liù in Turandot.

The Chalet — a romantic opera — was a triumph in all opera houses in the 19th century, maintaining its popularity until the 1930s. Ever since: nothing. Now this agreeable comic opera has been recreated and recorded for the first time, with 3 greats, and notably the very young Jodie Devos, a Queen Elisabeth prizewinner and consecrated artiste of the year 2015 by the International Classical Music Award. This is the debut on disc of Toulon Opera, directed here by a conductor who has already graced the operas of Australia and New Zealand: Guillaume Tourniaire.

Natalie Prass had her new album written, her band ready, the recording studio booked. Then the 2016 election happened, and out of her despair and disappointment in those results came an impulse she could not ignore: she rewrote the album to reflect these swirling emotions. The result is 'The Future and The Past' a stunning snapshot of a musician in a state of personal rediscovery and surging femininity. The celebratory and defiant 'The Future and The Past' also signals a significant artistic leap for Prass on the heels of her 2015 breakthrough debut album.

Under the moniker SOPHIE, the reclusive musician Sophie Long made a huge, fizzy splash on the underground dance-pop scene during the mid-2010s with a series of singles that contorted elements of giddy Eurodance, Japanese, and Korean pop, and experimental sound design into blindingly neon-colored pop-art gems. Often associated with the similar-minded PC Music label, SOPHIE's sophisticated, hyperkinetic productions typically feature high-pitched female vocals, sugary synthesizer textures, and beats drawing from underground dance music styles such as U.K. garage as well as mainstream pop and hip-hop. Instead of utilizing samples, she constructs her inventive tracks from waveforms, creating bizarre noises that resemble bubbling water, inflating balloons, elastic bands, and other non-musical sounds, adding to the surrealist, blatantly artificial quality of her music.
