Elvis Presley La tirade est connue mais résume bien la situation : l’Amérique a eu plus de quarante présidents, mais un seul roi ! Né le 8 janvier 1935 à Tupelo dans le Mississippi, Elvis Aaron Presley ne passa que 42 années sur terre mais son influence sur la musique, sur la culture et sur la nation américaine ne se mesure pas vraiment.

'This is a collection of songs that I’ve loved, mostly growing up, but also from more recently! There are great classics here that I’ve re­interpreted, like Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘Scarborough fair’, which I’ve sprinkled minstrel magic on, Elvis’s ‘Can’t help falling in love’, where I croon, and Percy Sledge’s ‘When a man loves a woman’ with its’ emotional chord structure borrowed from Pachelbel’s Canon, but also more obscure songs like Dylan’s sleepy ‘All the tired horses’ and ‘Kilkelly, Ireland’, by Peter Jones (not the department store or Dragon’s Den entrepreneur!)…

Fumble were by far the classiest of the rock'n'roll revival bands operating during the Seventies, recording extensively in their own right as well as touring with Bill Haley and Fats Domino, backing Chuck Berry and appearing in both the London show Elvis: The Musical and Jack Good's revival of the legendary Oh Boy!None of their rivals had original material of the caliber of "Free The Kids" or "Marilyn", and none of their fellow retro-rockers possessed the imagination or artistic self-confidence to come up with such radical revamps of classic R&B/rock tunes as their incendiary version of 'Not Fade Away'. Not Fade Away: The Complete Recordings 1964-1982 does exactly what it says on the tin. It features all of the band's recordings, including their three studio albums, beginning with their self-titled 1972 debut set (housed in a memorable Hipgnosis sleeve) and the superb follow-up 'Poetry In Lotion', which featured a handful of superior original songs alongside the vintage covers. In addition, we include the 'Rumble With Fumble' live LP as well as a number of previously unreleased studio outtakes, alternative versions, a BBC radio session and even eight pre-Fumble recordings from their time as mid-Sixties garage beat/R&B group The Iveys.
