This 2CD set contains the complete masters of Elvis’ 1956 RCA studio recordings in mono and for the first time in stereo. Using DES (Digitally Extracted Stereo) creating new authentic stereo mixes from original mono recordings.

Above the album worked the Elvis Presley - Elvis Reborn Vol.2 More Mono to Stereo Mixes, and his release took place on 2020. The album has got songs with a total duration of more than an hour. A compilation is a compilation of original music.

King Creole is the sixth album by American singer and musician Elvis Presley, issued by RCA Victor, LPM 1884 in mono in September 1958, recorded in four days at Radio Recorders in Hollywood. It contains songs written and recorded expressly for the 1958 film of the same name starring Presley, and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart.

In those days there was a "tone" knob that varied the sound between muffled through tinny. It's still mono, but the quality is so good you can actually understand what Elvis is saying. The disk is a replica of the vinyl album blue with white lettering. Those born in the fifties or earlier have their own memories of what happened to it. I recall a jealous neighbor who put a fist right on Elvis's jaw.

Good products are worth their weight in gold when times are a little harsh – and this album was certainly a genially placed stopgap. In 1959, at the time when RCA launched this record on the market, the label’s shining rock star was out of the country doing his military service in good old Germany. In order to comfort all his fans during his forced absence, the record bosses produced an album with a smartly uniformed Elvis on the cover, smiling widely to let his faithful followers know that he’d be back soon. There was a special calendar too, so that his fans could count off the days until his return. This marketing ploy was extremely successful. The record became a highly desirable collector’s item and even years later illegal dollars still flowed from pirate copies.
