Emulator Kontakt

Over 500 superb sounds from the biggest, bluest sampler of the 80s, brought to Kontakt with the blessing and collaboration of their original publisher, Doug Morton. Vintage EII companding convertors add punch, weight, grain and texture to the classic 8-bit sound.

The Emulator II is a glorious slice of musical history, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed the process of turning it into an archival Kontakt instrument in the Emulator II Universe of Sounds libraries. But even before we embarked on that mammoth sampling session, a thought was stirring at the back of our minds. Wouldn’t it be cool if the Emulator hadn’t just been a sampler? Wouldn’t it be cool if it had been more of a synth as well?

Volume 2 of the Emulator II OMI Universe of Sounds library follows on from Volume 1, adding well over 500 further instruments and expanding the sound palette of the first library hugely. The emphasis this time is a little different from before, with a wide range of classic analogue and digital synths represented, while brass, string and orchestral sounds are characterised by smaller selections but greater fidelity, rather than the sheer breadth of sounds covered in Volume 1.

The Sonas Philicorda is the first premium virtual instrument from our new imprint Sonas. The sample library contains a huge collection of multi sampled recordings from a Philips Philicorda electronic organ, sampled through a vintage recording chain in a hidden boutique studio in Leeds.

Inspired by East Coast and West Coast artists, the Ultimate Leads Urban Rack library is a wish come true for R&B Urban and hip-hop producers. Advanced Kontakt gui features EQs, Analog tape emulator, modulation, delay and many other things, allowing to create infinite set of hottest and freshest hip-hop and RnB leads.

Dark continues the theme of pads, but with Dark we delve into the world of dark and hard sounds. With Dark we’ve included rhythmic loops. We tried the sounds of Pure and Dark with rhythms and thought they sounded really good, so we’ve included loops and we intend to expand on the loops to complement the pads.

We’ve sampled amazing, expensive, state-of-the-art machines like the Emulator II and the Roland Jupiter 6, but sometimes what a track calls for is something a little more basic, a little more humble in its origins. Think soundtrack to Napoleon Dynamite. Think home keyboard. Think cheese. Think Casiotone.

Hollow Sun Vintage Samplers Collection features some of the most popular and well known samples from the two most desirable sampling instruments of the late 70s and early 80s, namely the Fairlight IIx and the Emulator EII. This collection has been carefully scripted to provide as much flexibility as possible.
