'Reunion Live' reunites three guitar giants for a sonic celebration that renews a tradition stretching back to 1996. Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Eric Johnson inaugurated the G3 concept 28 years ago which put them on stage together for the first time ever. The G3 tour line up changed over the years, but in 2024, the original G3 reunited for a sold-out run of dates in the US. That experience is embodied in G3 'Reunion Live' (and much more than 'just' a live album). The format of the tour is mirrored here with a full set from each guitarist with their own band, followed by a full-on jam featuring all three. The individual repertoire is comprised of signature tunes from each guitarist such as Joe's 'Sahara', Steve's 'For the Love of God' and Eric's 'Cliffs of Dover'. The encore jam features covers from the likes of Hendrix and Clapton.

2020 release from the Austin, TX based prolific guitarist, vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. EJ Vol II follows it's predecessor from 2016 which was simply EJ, an all-acoustic collection of songs which showcased nine original compositions and four covers. Johnson's approach was deeply honest, intimate, personal and delivered with organic emotion. With EJ Vol II, he presents new repertoire that combines electric and acoustic arrangements and once again represents a collection of originals with a couple of select covers.

Eric Johnson's unique and at times breathtaking mix of Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, a dash of pop, and plenty of jazz has made him one of the most respected guitar players on the planet. This live set, essentially a career retrospective, was drawn from shows Johnson did in Amsterdam, Koln, and Paris in 2013, and not only will it please his many fans, it also serves as a fine introduction to this stunning musician.

Eric Johnson's new album is long anticipated full acoustic work his supporters occasionally have witnessed during past decade or so. It is a collection of jazz, folk and fingerstyle instrumental tunes which in a sense the other side of the electirc guitar master. I think this is a nice set of studio tunes Eric played in live setting for a long period. And it's good to hear him enjoy playing. Some of them include parts progressive technical style I've never heard. His vocal is soft and good fit especially for songs like these. Eric has been prolific last few years which is exciting for fans like me. My only hope now is his next electric album since 2009 "Up Close". I will stay tuned and hope he stay healthy, and you folks enjoy.

The seed for this project was planted when Eric Johnson played on a few tracks for Mike Stern's 2009 album Big Neighborhood. The two guitarists discovered a shared affinity for jazz and blues, along with those two genres' rambunctious stepchildren, R&B and funk, and both players had always embraced a stylish fusion approach to their respective work.
