Captain Britain brings together a new team of Excalibur after the events of House of M and the previous Excalibur series. The teams faces threats such as: Black Air, Lionheart, Black Tom, and the Dark X-Men.
The series lasted until issue 24, after which it was continued in the mini-series X-Men: Die by the Sword, which it crossed over with the Exiles.

The myth of King Arthur brought once again to the screen. Uthur Pendragon is given the mystical sword Excalibur by the wizard Merlin. At his death Uthur buries the sword into a stone, and the next man that can pull it out will be King of England. Years later Arthur, Uthur's bastard son draws Excalibur and becomes king. Guided by Merlin, Arthur marries Guenivere and gathers the Knights of the Round Table. Arthur's evil half-sister Morgana sires a son with him, who may prove his downfall.

Excalibur IV is the widely anticipated fourth studio in the Celtic Rock Opera series, following on from the gold and platinum selling original trilogy. Excalibur IV was played live in it's entirety to 12 arenas in Germany in December 2016 and will be touring again in 2018. This album - based on the legendary story of King Arthur - features guest appearances from Alan Stivell, Michael Sadler (Saga), Jess Sibenberg and John Helliwell (Supertramp), Martin Barre (Jethro Tull), Moya Brennan (Clannad), Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth), Bernie Shaw (Uriah Heep), Siobham Owen, Sonja Kristina (Curved Air), John Kelly (The Kelly Family), and Maite Itoiz (Elfhental).

The first reference I saw to Alan Simon was the credit on Sonja Kristina’s recent anthology – it’s the track that’s also included here called ‘The Passion’. Then an Alan Simon compilation arrives to add to the stack of promos. So where does he come from?
