Interactions: A Guide to Swiss Underground Experimental Music is a double compilation curated by Luis Alvarado and published by Buh Records, which brings together 27 works by more than 30 artists from the current experimental music scene in Switzerland, in a variety of sounds, ranging from free improvisation, ambient and industrial music, to synthesizer music, sound collage and more, which gives an account of an intense activity of the Swiss underground that runs through cities such as Zürich, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne, Basel, Biel, Chiasso and Lucerne .
This anthology of experimental music from Japan showcases the young generation of musicians alongside established names and provides an insight into the current experimental scene, confirming the adventurous character of the Japanese music research.
Not the walls that should collapse is that passive place and "of craftsmanship" that the market has given to the Latin American. Today, for a Latin American artist to be recognized in the global art markets, he must be able to say "from here I speak". Recovering myths, traditions, ancestral cultures and popular are some of the twists that artists seek to be legitimized. "And I wonder: why? Already when you start working with record labels, you realize that it is the same market that imposes these criteria of legitimacy. It's interesting. I’m going to explain for those people who don’t know the "Works vol.1”. In the series of electronic music entitled CIRCUIT, the next work is created using the material from the previous one. At first I burn the precious CD into two CDRs, next I cross them and make new CIRCUIT music by using two CD-J players. Since this operation can be continued forever, CIRCUIT IV will be created by multiplying CIRCUIT III in the future. This series can be listened to on its own, but it would be interesting to compare it with the previous one or the next one. Since the material is the same, you will hear the same kind of sound, but in some cases, it may be completely transformed, and in other cases, it may remain the same…"
Music is imprinted into Persian culture pre-dating Islam by more than 1400 years. By the time of its arrival in Iran in the 7th century, Persians had already developed the core of the theoretical framework of music of Middle Eastern origin still valid to this day. The 12th Century represented a point of departure as Sufism penetrated Persian culture and poetry became intertwined with music. By surveying avant-garde music in Iran, Unexplained Sounds Group has made their first incursion outside “western culture” into a highly fertile ground. Not surprisingly, this journey has been handsomely rewarded. The sample consists of high quality tracks where we found a wide range of unique voices and compositional styles resulting in a mature body of work. Upon listening to these remarkable artists you are left wondering if there is a better cultural fit than Iran for experimental music to develop outside the west.
