Face of Fear

The Hidden Face is a psychological thriller that displays and analyzes the basic instincts, feelings of guilt, betrayal and fear that love can bring. The film opens with Adrian (Quim Gutierrez), a young orchestra conductor, viewing a video of his girlfriend, Belen (Clara Lago) telling him she is leaving him. Adrian becomes distraught. While drinking away his sorrows at a bar, he meets Fabiana (Martina Garcia) and they have a relationship where Fabiana moves into the house that Adrian was sharing with Belen. Adrian becomes a suspect in the disappearance of Belen, however, the investigators can find no evidence of Adrian's involvement in Belen's disappearance.

Five students on spring break meet at a secluded island cabin for a weekend getaway. After a night of music, drinking and getting re-acquainted the five friends are shocked to find the cabin's caretaker murdered and the only boat off the island gone. Stranded on the island they become the prey of a mysterious killer who seems bent on revenge for something the friends have done. They must defend themselves and find their tormentor or face death one by one.

When policeman Cha-siu fails to arrest a wanted rapist at a construction site, the suspect's dismembered legs, left arm and torso turn up in three separate locations of the site. Cha-siu commits suicide with an unexplained smile on his face, leaving Inspector Li and his on-the-job girlfriend Peanut to find the missing right arm. The mystery surrounding the case also arouses the curiosity of Balm and Coffee from Moon Weekly magazine. Author Blue who is collecting materials for her new novel also takes interest after giving a tape recorder to a young woman called Ada who has gone blind after watching a horror movie. Their separate investigations come to a dead end - literally - with Balm jumping to his death after meeting the spirit of the dead rapist and Ada stabbing herself through the head with a kitchen knife. Accidentally, Ada's tape recorder is played back at high speed and out of the background noise Blue and Master Li can discern the name of Peanut's grandmother who died 93 years ago…
