The ten CDs are, so to speak, the antidote to our eroticly charged box '' Sex, Drugs And Alcohol '': Absolutely youthful, this new edition is full of romance, longing, love cries and the accompanying drama. The Rockn Roll era, which was otherwise so wild, has given us a lot of memorable love songs, which the young Elvis was so lucky enough to make on his first LP. He is in this box as well as many of his Rock'n'Roll-colleagues, but there are hardly any well-known singers, who have not dealt with heartache and love-passion during their career:

Thank heaven Norman Dayron had the presence of mind to capture these sides by Chicago pianist Johnny Jones when he played at the Fickle Pickle in 1963 - as little as remains on tape of his talents as a singer, we're eternally indebted to Dayron's actions. Jones's insinuating vocals and bedrock 88s are abetted by harpist Billy Boy Arnold on these performances, and that's it - he had no rhythm section to fall back on.

THE DAMNED THINGS — what are they? Why are they? These are questions NO ONE ever asks. And yet, here we are… 9 wee years ago, Scott Ian - guitarist, beard-man and co-founder of legendary thrash metal outfit, ANTHRAX - took a meeting with the lowly Joe Trohman (also a guitarist, and a co-founder, of the band FALL OUT BOY). While Joe had no beard to speak of, he and Scott hit it off, and started making songs together. Weird, right? Well, they both love THIN LIZZY, and catchy, dirty rock ’n roll music – and doggone, they we’re going to make some of that greasy stuff! So, with the help of Cross Fit enthusiast/drummer Andy Hurley (FALL OUT BOY) and the sensual yet sardonically irreverent vocals of Keith Buckley (EVERY TIME I DIE), THE DAMNED THINGS were formed.
