The British dance music duo Faze Action consists of brothers Simon and Robin Lee. They grew up in Amersham, where Robin taught himself to play bass; he later studied music at Goldsmith College. Also interested in music, Simon began producing. Robin took a job as an English teacher in Osaka, Japan, and the two sent tapes back and forth to each other. As Faze Action, they released their debut single, "Original Disco Motion," in 1995, followed by "In The Trees" in 1996. 1997 saw the release of their first album, Plans & Designs. Their second album, Moving Cities, was their first to be released In the U.S. in 1999, by which time Robin had moved back to the U.K.

Features 2013 digital remastering. Includes a description and lyrics. Breakin' the Funk is the third album by American funk band Faze-O, released in 1979. It was released on She Records, a subsidiary of Atlantic Records. Wicked funk from Faze-O – a group who seem even tighter than before on this smoking album – yet still hold onto all the laidback modes that made them so great in the first place! There's a lean quality here that really prefaces the direction so many funk acts would take a few years later – a way of compressing everything down on the rhythm, to get past some of the excesses of too-large funk groups, or some of the overblown qualities of the disco generation!

Features 2013 digital remastering. Includes a description and lyrics. Like Wild Cherry, Bell & James, and Carl Douglas, Faze-O turned out to be among R&B's one-hit wonders of the 1970s. The Midwestern funk band's only major hit was 1978's "Riding High," a gem that reached the Top Ten on Billboard's R&B singles charts and was sampled by various rappers in the 1980s and 1990s. But Faze-O didn't have enough killer songs to sustain a long career, and many of the people who bought the "Riding High" single didn't acquire any of its albums.
