The "Earth" album contains a wide range of styles and feelings, as if Vangelis was trying to find his style and sound, to follow up the Aphrodite's Child successes with something more of his own. A number of progressive rock songs with experimental and fusion elements are mixed with Greek flavours, and melodies filled with romanticism, seemingly predicting the flair in Vangelis' later output. Contributing musicians include Anargyros Koulouris and Robert Fitoussi, while Warren Shapovitch provided a narration on two songs. Note that Fitoussi - with whome Vangelis worked on other occasions as well, some results released, others not - became famous in his own right as "F. R. David" in the eigties, singing the synth pop hit "Words Don't Come Easy".

This CD contains 2 'historical' LPs of Hadjidakis that were first released at 1970.

F. R. David (born Elli Robert Fitoussi David, 1 January 1947, Menzel Bourguiba, Tunisia) is a Tunisian-born Jewish French singer, best known for his 1982 hit single "Words (Don't Come Easy)".
F. R. David began his career as Robert Fitoussi, a Tunisian Jew singer-songwriter and guitarist with French garage band Les Trèfles. After one E.P., they mutated into Les Boots, but achieved very little commercial success. Adopting his new stage name, he went solo in 1967 and recorded some orchestral pop psych with Michel Colombier, including a version of The Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever" (Il Est Plus Facile). He enjoyed minor hits with the Éric Charden penned "Symphonie" and a cover of The Bee Gees' "Sir Geoffrey Saved the World", but this success did not last.

Paris-based singer/composer F.R. David (born Elli Robert Fitoussi on January 1, 1947 in Menzel Bourguiba, Tunisia) is often regarded as a one-hit wonder since he failed to repeat the success of his 1982 monster hit "Words" that topped the charts in a dozen European countries and even peaked at number two in Great Britain. He began his career in the early '70s as a guitarist for Vangelis and later, he was the lead vocalist in the French rock band Les Variations…
