2017 three CD set. 12 Inch Dance: Australian 80s Pop includes 37 rare extended versions of great Australian hits of the '80s from the likes of Icehouse, Real Life, Kids In The Kitchen, Split Enz, Pseudo Echo, I'm Talking, The Dugites, Kate Ceberano, Hunters & Collectors, Eurogliders, Boom Crash Opera, Models, Flowers, Wa Wa Nee, Stephen Cummings and others. The majority of these mixes have never been reissued in any format, and have never before been digitized. The 1980s was of course the decade the 12" single came into it's own. More than just a marketing tool, it enabled fresh and expansive remixes of dance-oriented pop tracks which were perfect for club DJ's and those wanting to hit the dancefloor to their favorite radio hits. Compiled by writer David Nichols (former Australian Smash Hits features editor in the '80s, co-author of Pop Life: Inside Smash Hits Australia and author of Dig: Australian Rock and Pop Music 1960-85.

A smorgasbord of driving R&B, sunshine pop, studio psychedelia and progressive rock recorded in Perth, Western Australia. Based in the Western Australian city of Perth, teenager Martin Clarke was working at a local radio station when he converted a spare bedroom into a makeshift recording studio. That modest early venture evolved into Martin Clarke Recording Studios, which opened in 1962 to become Perth's first professional recording facility. By the time the studio purchased a four-track in 1966, Clarke had launched the Clarion label, working with a constant stream of solo singers and beat/R&B groups.
