Whenever one sees a title like The Gentle Sex, one braces oneself for an ironic switcharound. The supposedly gentle girls of the title–seven in all–are actually determined young British moderns who go into military service during World War II. In true "Army bomber crew" fashion, the film explores the widely varied backgrounds of the ladies involved, showing the events which led them to their patriotic commitment. As propaganda, Gentle Sex served its wartime purpose; as entertainment, it holds up reasonably well after five decades. The film was coproduced and codirected by actor Leslie Howard, who functions as narrator and (according to one source) can be glimpsed from behind in a couple of scenes.

This classic film from Prince Chatrichalerm Yukol was made in 1984 and is about Thongpoon Khokpoh, a convict just out of prison looking for his son. His son refuses to meet him as he was left alone for many years. His father was in prison and his mother lives abroad with a foreigner. Thongpoon wishes to get reunited with his son. The movie deals about the lack of freedom for ex prisoners, i.e. difficulty of reinsertion into society, the difficulty in finding a job, and the image that an old convict will always be a bad man. He sympathizes with a young girl, who is a pickpocket and a glue sniffer. His mission is to get in touch with his son and along the way he gets mixed up with the police and the Thai mafia. Filmed all over Bangkok including Pat Pong's Superstar bar and disco it gives a great idea of what it was like in 1984.

Riva is an operator, a man with charm and ambition in equal measure. Kinshasa is an inviting place. With petrol in short supply in DRC's capital, he and his sidekick pursue a plot to get hold of a secret cache - barrels of fuel they can sell for a huge profit. Of course they're not the only ones who want the stuff. Cesar is a ruthless, sharply dressed foreigner thriving in Kinshasa's lawless streets. A female military officer joins the fray. Even the church will betray its tenets for a piece of the action….

Nelu, a man in his forties, works as a security guard in a local supermarket in the Romanian border town of Salonta. His life is uneventful: fishing at dawn, work during the day, and home with his wife in the evening. They live alone in the outskirts of the town and their main problem is repairing the old roof of their farmhouse. One morning, while fishing, Nelu meets a Turkish man trying to evade capture by the border guards. Nelu takes the stranger, desperate for help, to the farmhouse, gives him some dry clothes, food and shelter, although he doesn’t really know how to help him cross the border….

This is the tale of a hit and run accident that results in the death of an illegal foreigner. Three men, including a young executive, are aboard the vehicle responsible of the accident and decide to keep silence about the whole thing. But a young woman is witness of it and succeeds in finding the driver. She also searches and finds the deceased's wife too.

Un réalisateur, René Vidal, entreprend sur commande de tourner une nouvelle version du film Les Vampires réalisé en 1915 par Louis Feuillade. Il veut donner le rôle d'Irma Vep à Maggie Cheung, une actrice chinoise originaire de Hong Kong et qu'il a repéré dans des films de Kung Fu. Le tournage devient assez vite catastrophique. Vidal n'est pas content de ce qu'il fait et pète les plombs.
