Frank Zappa Vinyl

Strictly Commercial is a compilation album by Frank Zappa. It was released in 1995, two years after his death. The album was named as part of a 2011 lawsuit by Gail Zappa towards Rykodisc, claiming the label released several vault masters without the permission of the Zappa Family Trust on this and other releases, specifically the single edits of some songs, such as the 12" disco Remix of "Dancin' Fool".

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of the greatest albums in the history of recorded music. The original 1969 Frank Zappa album was the first record to be recorded on a prototype 16-Track Tape Machine. Self-described as a “Movie For Your Ears,” it was technically the second solo outing for the composer and the album that put FZ on the map as a guitar player. The vinyl for Hot Rats 50th is a 1LP of the original album, pressed on hot pink vinyl, pressed at Pallas on 180g.

Lumpy Gravy: Primordial contains Frank Zappa’s first orchestral-only edit of the music sessions recorded at Capitol Studios during 1967. This self-described “ballet” was never officially issued until 2008 on the posthumous collection Lumpy Money. On Record Store Day 2018 it makes it’s debut on limited edition 12” 45rpm mono translucent burgundy colored vinyl, mastered from the original 1967 1/4” mono master tape, with FZ’s original gatefold album design lovingly restored.

Frank Zappa and The Mothers Of Invention’s enigmatic Burnt Weeny Sandwich's 180-gram audiophile repressing was supervised by the Zappa Family Trust. The record was specially mastered for this release by Bernie Grundman with all analog production and cut directly from the 1970 ¼” stereo safety master tape in 2018.
