Jerry Goldsmith was at the peak of his phenomenal powers when he scored Poltergeist, Steven Spielberg’s 1982 film about paranormal activity. With this 2CD set, FSM presents the definitive edition of one of Goldsmith’s finest and most popular works—including the complete film score on Disc 1 and the original LP soundtrack album (along with a few previously unreleased bonus cues and alternates) on Disc 2. Poltergeist was produced by Spielberg and directed by Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre). Set in a fictional Southern California development, it tells the harrowing tale of a typical suburban family whose home is invaded by demonic spirits. It blends elements from previous Spielberg films in a new mix that is part sci-fi, part horror, and part contemporary thriller—all genres in which Jerry Goldsmith excelled. WaterTower Music will release a new soundtrack album for Patty Jenkins’ superhero movie Wonder Woman 1984, The album features eleven sketches written for the film by Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Inception, The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Interstellar, Pirates of the Caribbean, Man of Steel). The label has previously released the original soundtrack album for the sequel in December. Wonder Woman 1984 starring Gal Gadot, Kristen Wiig, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Pedro Pascal and Connie Nielsen follows the title character as she is facing two all-new foes: Max Lord and The Cheetah. The film is currently playing in theaters and is expected to debut on VOD next month.

The Woman King is a 2022 American historical epic film about the Agojie, the all-female warrior unit who protected the West African kingdom of Dahomey during the 17th to 19th centuries. Set in the 1820s, the film stars Viola Davis as a general who trains the next generation of warriors to fight their enemies. It is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and written by Dana Stevens, based on a story she wrote with Maria Bello.Terence Oliver Blanchard is an American trumpeter and composer. He started his career in 1982 as a member of the Lionel Hampton Orchestra, then The Jazz Messengers. He has composed more than forty film scores and performed on more than fifty. A frequent collaborator with director Spike Lee, he has been nominated for two Academy Awards for composing the scores for Lee's films BlacKkKlansman (2018) and Da 5 Bloods (2020). He has won five Grammy Awards from fourteen nominations.

A very well put together soundtrack, I must say. It has all the flavors, from hip-hop (Hot Pants) to melodious pop (Golden Brown; Lucky Star) to electronica (Supermoves) to beautiful "bassy" rock number (Angel) by Massive Attack, which also happens to be my favorite cut on this album. There are even some funny dialogues from the picture itself, which unfortunately, you will not enjoy unless you've seen the movie. Another version of this album has already been posted on Avax, in lossless, but some tracks and movie dialogues are missing from it. Perhaps, it is a different pressing. So, I decided to post this album. Enjoy it to the max!

This soundtrack to the popular 1982 animated film based on the acclaimed children's book by Peter Beagle was scored by songwriter/composer Jimmy Webb ("Wichita Lineman," "MacArthur Park") and features performances from the soft rock duo America. The score itself, an appropriately somber and sentimental blend of fairy tale motifs and dark, Wagnerian cues, reflects the story's achingly beautiful tale of a unicorn who attempts to overthrow a maniacal king determined to rid the world of the magical creatures, while the songs are far more creative, daring, and eloquent than all of the cookie-cutter balladry that would eventually replace their type in future animated films. Like Watership Down, The Hobbit, and even Robert Altman's live action, Harry Nilsson-scored Popeye, this hard to find soundtrack is a gem from another age.

"Moonlighting: the Television Soundtrack Album" is the soundtrack to the ABC television series Moonlighting and was produced by Phil Ramone and Glenn Gordon Caron. It features songs performed on the show by series leads Cybill Shepherd and Bruce Willis, alongside the series theme song performed by Al Jarreau. That single peaked at #1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart on July 25, 1987. Other songs include Chubby Checker's "Limbo Rock", The Isley Brothers's "This Old Heart of Mine (Is Weak for You)", and "When a Man Loves a Woman" by Percy Sledge.

Few observers expected that Whitney Houston's first big-screen role in 1992's The Bodyguard would generate a phenomenon.
