With last year's horror-themed action-adventure game The Devil Inside, designer Hubert Chardot attempted to reclaim the "survival horror" genre that he arguably started when he created Alone in the Dark–the game that largely inspired Capcom's hugely successful Resident Evil series. Unfortunately, The Devil Inside, despite having some original ideas and gameplay elements, failed to make much of an impact. Evidently undaunted, Chardot is back again this year with another horror-themed game, From Dusk Till Dawn. And though it features some really interesting new ideas for the genre, its technical problems and overall lack of polish outweigh its few strengths.

Based on the classic cult film, “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” is a supernatural crime saga centered on bank robber Seth Gecko (Cotrona) and his violent, unpredictable brother, Richie Gecko (Holtz), who are wanted by Texas Rangers Earl McGraw (Johnson) and Freddie Gonzalez (Garcia). While on the run to Mexico, the Gecko Brothers take former pastor Jacob Fuller (Patrick) and his children hostage. Using the family RV to cross the border, chaos ensues when the group ends up at a strip club populated by vampires. The series deepens the tone of the film, adds new characters and storylines, and explores the Mesoamerican mythology behind the creatures inside the club.

After a bank heist in Abilene with several casualties, the bank robber Seth Gecko and his psychopath and rapist brother Richard Gecko continue their crime spree in a convenience store in the middle of the desert while heading to Mexico with a hostage. They decide to stop for a while in a low-budget motel. Meanwhile the former minister Jacob Fuller is traveling on vacation with his son Scott and his daughter Kate in a RV. Jacob lost his faith after the death of his beloved wife in a car accident and quit his position of pastor of his community and stops for the night in the same motel Seth and Richard are lodged. When Seth sees the recreational vehicle, he abducts Jacob and his family to help his brother and him to cross the Mexico border, promising to release them on the next morning. They head to the truck drivers and bikers bar Titty Twister where Seth will meet with his partner Carlos in the dawn…
