This is perhaps the most "spirited" performance of Telemann's early chamber music that I've ever heard, and to my ears it sounds just right. It's the sort of performance when, even if you "know you know" the specific piece of music, you feel like you've never heard it before. In reality, seven of the nine sonatas on this CD are new to me. That's not so surprising when you consider that Telemann composed literally scores of scores!
