Garbage

Bleed Like Me is the fourth studio album recorded and produced by alternative rock group Garbage. It was released on April 11, 2005 by Universal Music Group label Geffen in North America and by Warner Bros. Records in other territories. The group chose a straight rock sound reminiscent of Garbage's live performances instead of the electronica that permeated the previous album, Beautiful Garbage (2001).

Deluxe edition includes four bonus tracks. 2012 album from the Alt-Rock outfit, their first album in seven years. Garbage consists of Scottish singer Shirley Manson (vocals, guitar) and American musicians Duke Erikson (bass, guitar, keyboards, percussion), Steve Marker (guitar, keyboards) and Butch Vig (drums, percussion). All four members are involved in songwriting and production.

Since the late ’80s, Mudhoney – the Seattle-based foursome whose muck-crusted version of rock, shot through with caustic wit and battened down by a ferocious low end – has been a high-pH tonic against the ludicrous and the insipid.

Version 2.0 is the second studio album by Scottish-American alternative rock band Garbage. The album was recorded primarily at Smart Studios from March 1997 to February 1998 and was released worldwide in May 1998 by Mushroom Records UK and in North America by Almo Sounds. Despite a slow start, Version 2.0 went on to equal its predecessor, becoming platinum-certified in many territories. By 2008, it had sold 1.7 million copies in the United States.

Given that it is a compilation of rarities and live performances, this double-CD retrospective is not the best starting place for those interested in the back catalog of Wigwam. It is, however, an excellent addition to those already initiated. Wigwam was one of the key players of the Finnish progressive rock scene in the late '60s and early '70s, and an instrumental group in establishing English-language rock music as a viable alternative for Finnish bands. Its ability to work clever pop melodies into their complex and innovative albums should have resulted in a much larger scale success than they achieved, but their attempts at breaking into the British market through a contract with Virgin failed, and as a result they're not well known outside Finnish borders.
