Because They Can is the second album from American rock group Nelson, released by Geffen Records in 1995.The album had a shaky production history as a result of creative differences between brothers Matthew and Gunnar Nelson and the Geffen Records executives, the latter led by John Kalodner. After the success of their debut album, After the Rain, the band recorded the heavier and darker follow-up Imaginator. When Kalodner and other Geffen executives were displeased with it, Nelson was told to record a lighter album. After more than a year of writing and recording, Nelson came up with Because They Can. The band left Geffen shortly after the release of the album

By the late 80’s keyboard-led music became a necessity. TESLA came out of such an era but stayed simple just as Led Zeppelin, Early Deep Purple, or Whitesnake. They recreated straight Rock’n roll based on guitars and passionate vocals. Their style honors Nikola Tesla, legendary inventor, where the band name came from. Borrowing Nikola Tesla’s 1943 invention, a machine cracking a nut, as the jacket image, the band fulfills the hard-rocking yet dynamic and acoustic rock to the edge. Bust a Nut is the fourth studio album by Tesla, released in 1994. It was their final studio album on Geffen Records before the band split. The album was certified gold on March 16, 1995. In November 2011, Bust a Nut was ranked number ten on Guitar World magazine's top ten list of guitar albums of 1994.

Imaginator is the third album from American rock group Nelson. It was released independently under their label Stone Canyon Records in 1996.The album is notable for being the second album recorded by the band, after the success of their debut album, After the Rain. The album was planned to be released around 1993. However, the album was rejected by producer John Kalodner and the executives at Geffen Records for being too heavy and dark. They gave the band the choice to either record another album, or they would be released from their contract. The band decided to return to the studio again and recorded a third album, Because They Can, which ended up being released by Geffen in 1995. The band broke up with Geffen shortly after the release of that album and released Imaginator independently.

The Graveyard Train barely got rolling along the tracks in the early 90's with a caboose full of bluesy hard rockers in the same vein as the London Quireboys and Black Crowes. Frank Scimeca (bass) and Robert Iezzi (drums) formed the band from the ashes of Angora, which had also included John Corabi and had a song featured on KNAC's The Son Of Pure Rock compilation album. They recruited relatively unknown Los Angeles residents Todd Griffin (vocals) and Bruce Draper (guitar). They quickly got signed to Geffen, and with the production of Tom Werman, their self-titled debut was released. In a nutshell… simply an outstanding album!
