Born and raised in North Philadelphia, PA, Grammy Award Winner, BILLY PAUL began singing at the age of 12 and sometimes performed on local radio shows. Drawing inspiration from his family’s collection of 78’s, BILLY PAUL would incorporate Jazz, R&B and Pop into his style, resulting in a unique sound that became synonymous with Philadelphia International Records.
Few artists can fuse genres as effortlessly as Linda Lewis. Gifted with an incredible 5 octave vocal range, her unique sound contains elements of Folk, Soul, Pop and Rock and has won the admiration of artists from Stevie Wonder to Paul Weller, Jamiroquai and Noel Gallagher, who Linda recently recorded backing vocals for.
During their most commercially successful years, Heatwave were a band that crossed many borders, laying claim to such international hits as Boogie Nights, Too Hot To Handle, The Groove Line, Eyballin’, and Always And Forever, all having a huge impact on both sides of the Atlantic. Heatwave’s fourth album, Candles, saw Johnnie Wilder Jr take on the producers role alongside James Guthrie, best known for his work with Pink Floyd, returning to work with Heatwave since serving as an engineer on both Too Hot To Handle and Central Heating.
