Up 2 Zero is the latest album from blues artist Anthony Gomes. Channeling his inner Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, and Jimi Hendrix, Gomes gives this album a great variety of old and new sounding blues. Even though so many greats have passed, blues lovers are lucky to have Anthony Gomes as a new voice to sing and play honest blues. This album is a definite must hear.

In 1998, Anthony Gomes won the award for Best Unsigned Blues Band in a competition held at Buddy Guy’s Legends. Five years later, he was named Artist of the Year in Blues Wax’s annual readers’ poll. On his latest effort Music Is the Medicine, however, he strives for something greater. Not that Gomes completely forsakes the genre in which he garnered a cult following, but throughout the affair, he uses the blues more as the starting point rather than the focus for his journey.

Colombo is technically not quite an opera. Gomes called it a "Poema Corale-Sinfonico". Although each of the work's four parts is given a specific location–the Convent of Rabida, the Royal Palace, at Sea, on the Island–it more closely resembles an oratorio or a scenic cantata. It was composed in celebration of the "Fourth Centenary of the Discovery of the Americas by Columbus"; the premiere was on October 12, 1892, in Rio de Janeiro

This selection of chamber music by leading Portuguese composer Pedro Faria Gomes was written between 2007 and 2018. The works encompass themes of memory, change and waiting, with the concept of time being a central preoccupation. Though he has drawn on music from his country’s folk traditions – in Memória and in the Sonata – it is always with new harmonic insights and subtlety, creating undeniably invigorating additions to contemporary chamber music repertoire.

Carlos Gomes was not only Brazil’s leading operatic composer, but he also helped pave the way for Italian verismo during the latter part of the 19th century. The preludes and overtures from his operas chart a course from early experimentation with orchestral sonority to a new conception of atmosphere and tension in his historically based dramas. In Alvorada (‘Dawn’) from Lo schiavo his descriptive writing comes close to the status of a symphonic poem. The music from his greatest artistic triumph, Il Guarany, weaves themes into an organic whole, while his final opera, Condor, is reminiscent of French orchestral music in its employment of whole-tone scales.

Acclaimed Blues Rock guitarist Anthony Gomes released his 13th studio album entitled, "High Voltage Blues" on Friday September 23, 2022 via Rat Pak Records. Coming off the heels of his highly successful 2020 #1 Billboard charting release, "Containment Blues", High Voltage Blues is a compilation album that showcases three new studio tracks, along with eleven re-recorded fan favorites and features guest appearances by legendary bassist Billy Sheehan, KoRn drummer Ray Luzier, renown vocalist Bekka Bramlett and The Voice™ contestant Wendy Moten. "We had a lot of fun rocking these songs up" says Anthony.
