Christian Li walks in the footsteps of Mendelssohn, bringing the music from his travels around Europe to life. Recorded with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, we follow Mendelssohn's own journeys, with pieces written in Leipzig, Düsseldorf, Munich, Venice and London, including music from the composer's own inspirations and contemporaries: J. S. Bach, Mozart and Schubert.

With Malinconia, Yan Levionnois and Guillaume Bellom invite us to a musical exploration of nostalgia. From Debussy to Piazzolla, via Webern, Fauré, Janacek, Bartok, Sibelius and Liszt, this album also offers a journey through the 20th century. Through pieces testifying to the personal vision of this state by eight composers, this programme offers a juxtaposition of styles. Rich in contrasts, it offers an immediately perceptible diversity in which the works illuminate each other.

Daniel Barenboim is a conductor and pianist of top international stature, known for an extraordinarily large orchestral and operatic repertoire. He is the general music director and chief conductor for life of the Staatsoper Berlin in Germany.
Barenboim was born in Buenos Aires on November 15, 1942, into a family of Ukrainian Jewish descent. His mother was his first piano teacher. He later studied with his father, Enrique Barenboim, who was an eminent music professor.

Janna Gandelman is the concertmaster of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.She is a Professor of Violin at the Buchman Mehta School of Music at Tel Aviv University and teaches at the Jerusalem Conservatory of Music. At the age of 5, she started to play the violin, taking lessons with Professor Weiner. At a very young age, she has won numerous competitions still in the Soviet Union, National Violin Competition, Stoliarsky School Competition, International competition of USSR, and Auer Competition.After immigration to Israel in 1979, she continued her studies with the legendary violin pedagogue, Professor Bondarenko, David Oistrach's assistant. Janna plays on Nicolas Lupot violin from 1799, loaned generously by the Yehuda Zisapel Foundation.
