From the very beginning Gotthard has specialized in upbeat, catchy, feel-good, melodic rock & roll. Gotthard's self-titled debut might not have stood out from the crowd much in 1992, given the sheer volume of bands playing melodic rock at the time, but it would prove to be the launching point of one of Switzerland's most successful bands ever, and one of the few bands from that era that has continued to serve up high quality melodic rock year after year.

The original Defrosted album was released way back in 1997 and was Gotthard’s very first live album and fourth album to date. In Switzerland it’s legendary – reaching double-platinum in a matter of months. To this day it’s still seen as a milestone for those rock fans outside of Switzerland. To date it’s a career that includes 16 No.1-albums, over three million records sold, multiple awards and over 2000 shows all over the planet. If you’ve missed out on the last 25 years of Gotthard then this sumptuous live release is as good a place as any to start as the band rework acoustically their greatest hits. The album itself was recorded on the ‘Defrosted Tour’ in March 2018 and there’s a real chemistry between band and audience that seeps through this recording. But as well as the 22 song showcase fans also get to hear 2 brand new tracks in acoustic format.

Gotthard‘s second studio release with new vocalist, Nic Maeder is an album of ever unfolding delights. Yet, in the beginning, it finds itself on the immediate downward slide toward Whitesnake territory, not helped by Maeder’s vocal mannerisms. Sacrificing your identity for a second hand template, albeit one cut in the shape of a mega successful band should seem totally alien to a multi-talented outfit like Gotthard. For all 62 minutes of Bang, Bauerfeind’s production pulsates with energy and invention, amply providing us with all the muscular, hard punching rock you would expect from the band. But look below the surface and Bang is simply bubbling with unexpected subtleties and meticulously wrought textural detail.

CORELEONI is a band founded by the Swiss musician Leo Leoni, known for his work with the famous Hard Rock act GOTTHARD. Leoni came up with the idea to create this band, because he figured out that he couldn't play the songs from the early days of his main band, because they should always play the most famous one and there wasn't enough time to play some old classics of his career.
