This CD brings together the compositions by four violinist- composers. United by a reverence for Arcangelo Corelli (1653- 1713), and in particular his Opus 5, these works explore the imagination of form that was the Sonata for violin and continuo. Weaving together stylised dances and the preludic tradition, we are transported to a world of musical alchemy - the violinist creating ex nihilo textures and melodies that entrance and amaze.

Arti E Mestieri are an Italian historical group of progressive and jazz-rock, formed in 1974. Arti & Mestieri celebrate their 33th birthday wih a project called “33” created and produced by Beppe Crovella for Electromantic Music.

Arti e Mestieri is one of the most famous and highly regarded bands from Italy. Although they are not officially recognized as a Rock Progressivo Italiano (RPI) band, their music has a lot to offer to fans of the Rock Progressivo Italiano scene. Their style is a blend of RPI and Jazz/ Fusion. To my ears, that is a very nice blend. This live album is full of this blend. The band debuted in the early 1970s and their debut album Tilt is widely regarded as a classic album. It is therefore quite fitting that this album starts with one of the songs from this album; Gravita. The tone has been set for seventy five minutes of some truly great music.

After a brilliant career 30 years long, this "Estrazioni" confirms such a remarkable talent regarding A&M and their good creativity as well.then consider their experience and you understand the meaning of their efforts still nowadays!! For instance you can listen to an old tune of progressive jazz, entitled "Gravita 9:81", dedicated to Demetrio Stratos, but you can find also a typical blend (for their excellent standard) of rock and jazz, plus the Mediterranean melodies, characterizing the music colours of my Country!! The same job has been performed for example by "Periferia del Mondo", but perhaps with a different approach-sometimes a bit forced- even paying their tribute to the ensemble of A&M itself: as for all these reasons, especially by considering the longevity of this latter, you remain satisfied at the end.
