Super Extra Gravity is The Cardigans' sixth album. It was produced by Tore Johansson who last worked with The Cardigans on Gran Turismo. The first single released was "I Need Some Fine Wine and You, You Need to Be Nicer". The band planned to release "Don't Blame Your Daughter (Diamonds)" in the UK in April 2006, but this was cancelled because of the poor performance of the album and first single there. Instead, a two-track digital single was released on iTunes in the UK. It was said that "Godspell"—the lyrics of which reference a conservative religious mentality common to the band's hometown of Jönköping— was to be the third single, but plans for its release fell through.

“Newton’s Gravity” conveys the power of simple mathematics to tell the fundamental truth about nature. Many people know the tides are caused by the pull of the Moon and to a lesser extent the Sun. Mr. Big were one of the few "shredder" pop metal bands (translation: the bandmembers were highly proficient at their instruments) that prized songcraft as highly as virtuosity. The seeds for the group's formation were sown when bass player extraordinaire Billy Sheehan, often called "the Eddie Van Halen of bass," left David Lee Roth's solo band in 1988. Shortly thereafter, he began piecing together a new outfit comprised of former Racer X guitarist Paul Gilbert, drummer Pat Torpey, and singer Eric Martin, the latter of whom had issued a pair of obscure solo releases in the mid-'80s. By 1989, the newly formed quartet had already inked a recording contract with Atlantic, resulting in the release of a self-titled debut the same year. Despite finding a warm reception among musicians, the album failed to cross over to a mainstream rock audience in America; however, Mr. Big was an immediate success overseas in Japan.

Many of us have experienced the same; fallen and broken something. Yet supposedly, gravity is the weakest of the fundamental forces; it is claimed to be 10-15 times weaker than electromagnetism. Still, every one of us has more or less had a personal relationship with gravity.

Annotator Jeff Hannusch calls the Australian Jesse Winchester release Defying Gravity a live album, although there is little sound of an audience on the tracks (rarely is applause heard at the end of songs, for instance), and the recording is otherwise unidentified in the release by the AIM label. Aural evidence and song selection, however, suggest that this 65-minute recording chronicles Winchester's touring band of about 1977. The material comes largely from his early albums Jesse Winchester; Third Down, 110 to Go; Learn to Love It; Let the Rough Side Drag; and Nothing But a Breeze, and it is notable, for instance, that in performing "Tell Me Why You Like Roosevelt" (from the 1974 Learn to Love It), Winchester updates the lyric to refer to President Jimmy Carter, who took office in January 1977 and immediately pardoned Vietnam War resistors like Winchester, who had moved to Canada in 1967 rather than submit to the military draft.
