In un giorno d'autunno stranamente fuori stagione, un giovane americano, arrivato in Bulgaria per insegnare inglese, entra nei bagni del Palazzo della Cultura a Sofia e incontra Miko. Per vivere Miko fa ogni tipo di affari e non esita ad accettare i soldi dell'americano in cambio di qualche ora di sesso. L'incontro accidentale diventa presto fatidico, e i due si trovano intrappolati in una relazione in cui il desiderio si trasforma in una furia predatoria e la tenerezza sconfina nella violenza.
